LCIF implemented projects
 
Latvian Community Initiatives Foundation implements certain projects to promote development of community initiatives and co-operation between nongovernmental organizations, local governments and businesses.
 
Project “Designing and Implementing Models to Promote Private and Public Partnership with Involvement of NGO” started on 1 August 2008 and finished on 1 September 2009. It was funded by EEZ/ Norwegian Finance mechanism and supported by the State via Society Integration Foundation.  
The idea of the project was to emphasize the role of co-operation in dealing with local problems and promotion of private and public partnership. LCIF partners in the project were local municipalities in Valka and Sabile.
 
Project “Development of Cross- Border Co-operation among the Grassroots for Development of Sustainable Latvia- Estonia Borderland Communities”- “Still Active” for short, was approved by Estonia- Latvia Programme in 2009.
Co-operation between community groups of people aged 45+ and implementation of community initiatives will be carried out in the border regions within the project. The target Estonian and Latvian community groups will join their efforts to carry out various social, cultural, as well as economic activities. LCIF partners in the project are: Naukšeni municipality, NGO “Mount Konu Life School”, Ape area Council, NGO “Support Club for Ape Development”, Varstu Municipality (Estonia), NGO “House of Varstu” (Estonia), Helme Municipality Government (Estonia) and NGO “Taagepera Society of Volunteers” (Estonia).
