About the foundation
Latvian Community Initiatives Foundation (LCIF) aims at attracting funds from individual donors, business companies, state and other sources to support and educate non-governmental organizations in the field of social welfare, health care and education in the regions of Latvia by promoting community initiatives*.
Only NGOs that are registered and work in the regions of Latvia in the field of social welfare, health care and education are entitled to apply for finances available in LCIF programs or actions.
To assess the submitted projects and to take relevant grant decisions it is essential for the applicant NGO to prove its sustainable cooperation with the local authorities and involvement of the local population.
LCIF is known for its
- positive attitude to project applicants
- consultancy and assistance during the preparation process of the project as well as during its implementation
- perceptible project documentation
LCIF has the status of public benefit organization.
* Community initiative is an activity initiated by the local society to improve the well-being of its people which develops in cooperation of an NGO with the local government and local businesses.
